What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

National e-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology is organizing State Capacity Building Workshops <\/span>under its Capacity Building Scheme.<\/span><\/p>\n

These workshops aim to help people understand how emerging technologies can enhance service delivery and how to create policies and strategies for the changing digital environment.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is <\/b>Capacity Building scheme?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Capacity Building scheme under Digital India programme envisions building adequate and relevant capacities at all levels in the Government.<\/span><\/p>\n

Launched in:<\/b> The scheme was initially approved in 2008.In 2015, the scheme was continued under Digital India programme.<\/span><\/p>\n

Implemented by: <\/b>National e-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Digital India Programme?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Digital India programme was launched by the Prime Minister in 2015.<\/span><\/p>\n

Aim: <\/b>To transform India into a knowledge-based economy and a digitally empowered society by ensuring digital services, digital access, digital inclusion, digital empowerment and bridging the digital divide.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The programme is coordinated by the<\/b> Ministry<\/span> of Electronics & Information Technology <\/span>(MeitY) with the Ministries and Departments in the Central and State Governments partnering it in their respective domain areas.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Major Initiatives under Digital India Programme:<\/b><\/p>\n

Aadhaar: <\/b>Aadhaar provides 12 digit biometric and demographic based identity that is unique, lifelong, online and authenticable.<\/span><\/p>\n

Common Services Centres<\/b> \u2013 CSCs are offering government and business services in digital mode in rural areas through <\/span>Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs)<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

DigiLocker: <\/b>Digital Locker provides an ecosystem with a collection of repositories and gateways for issuers to upload the documents in the digital repositories<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG)<\/b> \u2013 for providing government services to citizens through mobile.<\/span><\/p>\n

MyGov \u2013<\/b> It is a citizen engagement platform that is developed to facilitate participatory governance.<\/span><\/p>\n

CO-WIN –<\/b> It is an open platform for management of registration, appointment scheduling & managing vaccination certificates for Covid-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

Jeevan Pramaan: <\/b>Jeevan Pramaan envisages to digitize the whole process of securing the life certificate for Pensioner.<\/span><\/p>\n

National Knowledge Network:<\/b> A high speed data communication network has been established to interconnect Institution of higher learning, and research.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyaan (PMGDISHA): <\/b>It aims to usher in digital literacy in rural India by covering 6 Crore rural households (one person per household).<\/span><\/p>\n

FutureSkills Prime:<\/b> It was launched by MeitY in collaboration with NASSCOM.It <\/span>aims at re-skilling\/ up-skilling IT professionals in 10 new\/emerging technologies which include Augmented\/Virtual Reality, Internet of Things, Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence among others.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
