India\u2019s <\/span>Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare attended the World Health Summit 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the World<\/b> Health Summit?<\/b><\/h2>\n

World Health Summit is the unique international strategic forum for global health<\/span><\/p>\n

Founded in:<\/b> 2009 on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Berlin\u2019s Charit\u00e9 Hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n

Held under:<\/b> It is held under the patronage of the German Chancellor, President of the Republic of France, President of the European Commission and Director-General of the World Health Organization(WHO).<\/span><\/p>\n

Held at: <\/b>annually held in Berlin, Germany\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aim:<\/b> To set the agenda for a healthier future by inspiring innovative solutions for better health and wellbeing for all.<\/span><\/p>\n

Theme for 2023:<\/b> \u201cA Defining Year for Global Health Action.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the key highlights from the Health Minister\u2019s address at the <\/b>World Health Summit 2023?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Union Minister highlighted the steps taken by India to reduce the prevalence and impact of <\/span>Non-communicable diseases (NCDs).Some of these steps are:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD): <\/b>It was launched under the National Health Mission (NHM) in 2010. It aims to strengthen infrastructure, human resource development, health promotion, early diagnosis, management and referral.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

75\/25 initiative:<\/b> It is aimed at screening and providing standard of care for 75 million individuals with hypertension and diabetes by 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

Budget 2023-24: <\/b>The Outcome Budget document of the Union Budget for 2023-2024 has included hypertension and diabetes treatment as output indicators for the first time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Population-Based Screening(PBS):<\/b> It is organized under the umbrella of Comprehensive Primary Health Care (CPHC) across Ayushman Bharat- Health and Wellness Centres (AB-HWC).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 The individuals in the age groups of 30 years and above are targeted for risk assessment and screening of common NCDs (hypertension, diabetes, oral cancer, breast cancer and cervical cancer).<\/span><\/p>\n

National NCD portal:<\/b> It is being used for prevention, control, screening and management of common NCDs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Primary-level information is captured through this portal at public health facilities for reporting and monitoring individual-wise screening and compliance of treatment for NCDs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
