What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Prime Minister chaired the meeting to assess the progress of the Gaganyaan mission and outline the future of Indian space exploration.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the key highlights from the meeting?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Gaganyaan Mission<\/b> is scheduled to be launched in 2025. It aims to d<\/span>emonstrate human spaceflight capability by launching a human crew to an orbit of 400 km and bringing them back safely to earth, by landing in Indian sea waters<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indian on Moon<\/b>: PM has said that ISRO should now plan to <\/span>land an Indian on the moon by 2040.This will strengthen India\u2019s position in the space field.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Note:<\/b> The US is planning to send the first humans to explore the region near the south pole of the moon later this decade, in a mission called <\/span>Artemis ll.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2013 China has also planned to place astronauts on the moon by 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indigenous space station<\/b>: <\/span>\u00a0PM has said that India should now aim for setting up \u2018Bharatiya Antariksha Station\u2019 (Indian Space Station) by 2035.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013<\/span> International Space Station<\/b>: It has been developed and maintained by the U.S., Russia, Canada, Japan, and European agencies.It is the largest space station.It is expected to be decommissioned by 2030.<\/span><\/p>\n

Interplanetary Missions:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u2013 Shukrayaan-1<\/b>: It is a proposed mission of ISRO.It aims <\/span>t<\/b>o study the surface and atmosphere of Venus.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2013 Mangalyaan 2:<\/b> It <\/span>is a proposed second mission to Mars by ISRO.It <\/span>will study aspects of Mars, including interplanetary dust, and the Martian atmosphere and environment.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
