What is the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Union Education Ministry has introduced the concept of \u2018One Nation, One Student ID\u2019 referred to as APAAR ID.<\/span><\/p>\n

This concept is in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.The policy <\/span>aims to create unique ID numbers for school students across India.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is APAAR?<\/b><\/h2>\n

APAAR stands for \u2018Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry\u2019.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is <\/span>a 12 digit digital identification system for school students in India.<\/span>It will give each student enrolled from pre-primary to higher education a unique identification number.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will digitally store academic qualifications, credit scores, certificates, and other academic data of students.<\/span><\/p>\n

How can students enroll in APAAR?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The enrolment process will be carried out by the school, with the consent of the students parents.<\/span><\/p>\n

The parents can withdraw their consent at any given point in time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The data will be shared only with concerned government agencies if and when required.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The data collected on each student by the schools will be stored in a centrally functioning District Information for Education portal.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the benefits of APAAR for students?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Data Security Worries<\/b>: Because of past issues with Aadhaar data security, people are worried about the safety of their information with APAAR.<\/span><\/p>\n
