India has to decide between the candidates of Bangladesh or Nepal for the post of Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO).<\/span><\/p>\n

Regional Offices<\/b><\/td>\nWHO also has six regional offices: Africa, the Americas, Southeast Asia, Europe, Eastern Mediterranean, and Western Pacific.\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Funding: Two sources<\/b><\/td>\n(1) Assessed contributions (AC<\/b>): These are a percentage of a country\u2019s gross domestic product (the percentage is agreed by the United Nations General Assembly).
\n<\/span>(2) Member States approve them every two years at the World Health Assembly.They cover less than 20% of the total budget.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Voluntary contributions (VC): <\/b>They are largely from Member States as well as from other United Nations organizations, intergovernmental organizations, philanthropic foundations, the private sector, and other sources.\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
