Why in the News?<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Prime Minister has participated in the programme marking the culmination of the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign?<\/b><\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Aim<\/b><\/td>\nTo honour the brave freedom fighters and bravehearts who sacrificed their lives for the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Activities under the campaign<\/b><\/td>\nShilaphalakams (memorial plaques): <\/b>It will be built in every village or panchayat to pay tribute to those who laid down their lives during the freedom struggle or defence personnel who lost their lives.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Veeron Ka Vandan: <\/b>It will felicitate freedom fighters and the families of deceased freedom fighter<\/span>s.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Vasudha Vandhan:<\/b> Under this, every gram panchayat is encouraged to plant 75 saplings of indigenous species.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Amrit Vatika: <\/b>Volunteers have been tasked with collecting \u201cmitti\u201d from each of the panchayats or villages and bring them to the block level.From each block, a \u201cmitti kalash\u201d, will be carried to Delhi.
\n<\/span>\u2013 The soil will be utilized to develop a unique garden, called Amrit Vatika.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Taking the Panch Pran Pledge <\/b>with focus to make India a developed country, eliminate the mentality of slavery, be proud of our rich heritage, uphold unity and solidarity, fulfill duties as citizens, and respect those who protect the nation.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Significance<\/b><\/td>\nThe campaign will inspire the nation, foster unity and gratitude for the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and security forces.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
