The World Health Organization (WHO) has released the Global TB Report 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

What are the key findings of the Global TB Report 2023?<\/b><\/h2>\n

Globally:<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Specifications<\/b><\/td>\nDetails<\/b><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
TB cases in 2022<\/b><\/td>\n7.5 million.This is the highest number since WHO began global TB monitoring in 1995.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
TB incidence rate (new cases per 100,000 population per year)<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\nIncreased by 3.9 per cent between 2020 and 2022.This marks a reversal from the previous declining trend.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Deaths due to TB in 2022<\/b><\/td>\n1.30 million deaths.This was down from estimates of 1.4 million in both 2020 and 2021 and almost back to the level of 2019.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
High TB Burden countries<\/b><\/td>\n(1) Overall, 30 high burden countries collectively made up 87% of global TB cases.
\n<\/span>(2) Two-thirds of the global TB cases was in eight countries namely: India (27%), Indonesia (10%), China (7.1%), the Philippines (7.0%), Pakistan (5.7%), Nigeria (4.5%), Bangladesh (3.6%) and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (3.0%).\u00a0<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
