International Sugar Organisation (ISO) has announced that India will chair the organization for 2024.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Status of Indian Sugar Industry<\/h2>\n

1) India is the largest consumer<\/strong> (15%) and second largest producer<\/strong> (20%) of sugar in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

2) <\/span>India is the 3<\/strong><\/span>rd<\/strong> largest country in the world in ethanol production<\/strong> after the USA and Brazil. The ethanol blending percentage in India has increased from 5% in 2019-20 to 12% in 2022-23.<\/span><\/p>\n

3) Despite record high global sugar prices, India ensures the cheapest sugar to its people.<\/span><\/p>\n
