The Ministry of Textiles is hosting the 81st Plenary Meeting of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) in the Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai.<\/span><\/p>\n

2) Aim: To boost the global competitiveness of Indian cotton by taking charge of branding, traceability, and certification, with a focus on sustainability and benefiting all involved stakeholders.<\/span><\/p>\n

3) This brand of cotton <\/span>would be traceable using blockchain technology and it would be carbon positive.<\/span><\/p>\n

What is the overview of the Cotton Textile Industry of India?<\/h2>\n

1) India has the largest area under cotton cultivation and is the second largest cotton producer.<\/span><\/p>\n

2) <\/span>Gujarat, Maharashtra and Telangana are the major cotton producing states. They produce about 65% of cotton production in the country.<\/span><\/p>\n
