Why in the News?<\/h2>\n

Recently Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB) launched a programme in Saint Lucia. India has been selected as the Partner Administration<\/strong> and will contribute Tax Experts to this programme.<\/p>\n

What is Tax Inspectors Without Borders (TIWB)?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

What is it?<\/strong><\/td>\n1) It is an initiative aimed at supporting countries in building tax audit capacity.
\n<\/strong>2) It facilitates the transfer of tax audit knowledge and skills<\/strong> to developing country tax administrations using a practical, “learning by doing” approach.
\n3) The initiative underpins the OECD\/G20 BEPS actions<\/strong>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Launched by<\/strong><\/td>\nJoint initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), launched in 2015.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Secretariat<\/strong><\/td>\nLocated in Paris, the Secretariat is backed by UNDP’s network of Country Offices in developing nations.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Key Features of the Programme<\/strong><\/td>\n1) Enhance international cooperation on tax matters and support the domestic resource mobilization efforts of developing countries.
\n2) It facilitates targeted, tax audit assistance programmes in developing countries across the globe.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

What is the TIWB Programme in Sant Lucia?<\/h2>\n

1) In partnership with the TIWB Secretariat, India<\/strong> aims to assist Saint Lucia in enhancing its tax administration by imparting technical knowledge and skills, as well as sharing best practices.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2) The program will emphasize the efficient utilisation of automatic exchange of information within the Common Reporting Standard (CRS) framework.<\/p>\n

3) It is the seventh TIWB programme which India has supported<\/strong> by providing Tax Experts.<\/p>\n
