The Prime Minister has inaugurated Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) in Gujarat.<\/span><\/p>\n

1) Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) is a global centre for trading of both rough and polished diamonds as well as jewellery.<\/span><\/p>\n

2) <\/span>Designed by:<\/b> An architecture firm named Morphogenesis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3) <\/span>Aim: <\/b>To shift the <\/span>diamond trading business from Mumbai to Surat, which is the hub of diamond cutting and polishing with thousands of factories across the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

4) <\/span>Features: <\/b>It will consist of-
\na) State-of-the-art ‘Customs Clearance House’ for import and export.
\nb) Jewellery mall for the retail jewellery business.
\nc) Facility for international banking and safe vaults.<\/span><\/p>\n

5) <\/span>Significance: <\/b>It is the world\u2019s largest diamond trading hub. <\/span>It is also the world’s largest office building ahead of The Pentagon.<\/span><\/p>\n
