They were only 7 and 9 years old, respectively, at the time of their deaths.<\/p>\n<h2>How were the Sons of Guru Gobind Singh Martyred?<\/h2>\n<p>1) During the <strong>Battle of Chamkaur (1704)<\/strong> fought between the Sikhs and Mughals, Guru Gobind Singh&#8217;s youngest sons,<strong> Sahibzada Baba Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Baba Fateh Singh Ji were captured by the Mughals.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2) Refusing to convert or to bow to Wazir Khan, the two were <strong>sentenced to death<\/strong> and were soon martyred by execution.<\/p>\n<p>3) The Guru\u2019s mother Mata Gujari and his two elder sons, Sahibzaada Ajit Singh (18) and Sahibzaada Jujhar Singh (14), were also killed within a week.<\/p>\n<p>4) A few years later<strong> Baba Banda Singh Bahadur avenged the execution of the Sahibzade<\/strong>, by attacking, capturing Sirhind and executing Wazir Khan.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPSC Syllabus- Art &amp; Culture<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source&#8211; This post is based on the article &#8220;Veer Bal Diwas: Recalling the \u2018supreme sacrifice\u2019 of Guru Gobind Singh\u2019s sons&#8221; published in &#8220;The Indian Express&#8221; on 26th December 2023.
