Objective of the policy<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Double farmer income<\/strong> by 2022<\/li>\n<li>The goal is to increasing the share of agricultural exports from present about <strong>USD 30 billion to over USD 60 billion.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>To make the country in <strong>top 10 places<\/strong> in exporting agricultural products in the world<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>3. Draft proposal<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Barring essential agricultural commodities, <strong>no other commodity will be placed under export restriction<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To <strong>remove minimum export price (MEP), export duty and export ban<\/strong> on agricultural products, exception will be given to essential commodities.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Common portal<\/strong> should be established for all rejected agricultural commodities by foreign countries.<\/li>\n<li>Export promotion councils, commodity boards and industry association, will act as a forum to <strong>rationalize APMC act and MANDI fees.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Development of <strong>export centric clusters<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>Promoting <strong>value added products<\/strong> through incentives.<\/li>\n<li>Marketing and promotion of <strong>geographical indication (GI) commodities<\/strong> for exports.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthening <strong>post-harvest infrastructure<\/strong> for logistical movement of agricultural commodity.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Promoting R&amp;D activities<\/strong> for new product development for the upcoming markets.<\/li>\n<li>Dealing with <strong>sanitary and phytosanitary <\/strong>issues are also the priorities.<\/li>\n<li>Policy made a case for <strong>promoting contract farming<\/strong> as it would help in attracting investments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>NATIONAL AGRICULTURAL EXPORT POLICY PENDING IN CABINET 1 News A draft National Agricultural Export Policy has been released by the Commerce Ministry. 2.
