Why in news?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Recently, the Defence Ministry proposed a new three-year <\/span>rotation plan for the Republic Day parade tableau selection.<\/span><\/p>\n

Theme of Republic Day 2024 parade: <\/strong>\u2018Viksit Bharat\u2019 (Developed India) and \u2018Bharat-Loktantra ki Matruka\u2019 (India-Mother of Democracy).<\/p>\n

How are the tableaux selected?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

1) The selection process of tableaux for the Republic Day parade is carried out by\u00a0the Ministry of Defence.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2) Expert committee (appointed by MoD) of prominent people<\/strong> from art, culture, painting, sculpture, music, architecture, choreography do the shortlisting of the tableaux.<\/p>\n

2) They hold six to seven rounds of meetings<\/strong> to examine the proposals before shortlisting and making the ultimate decision.<\/p>\n

3) Firstly, the submitted sketches or designs of the proposals are scrutinised by this committee.<\/strong> Committee can make suggestions for any modifications in the sketch or design.<\/p>\n

4) In the next stage, three-dimensional models of their proposals are again examined by the expert committee for final selection.<\/p>\n

5) The final selection is dependent upon a combination of factors<\/strong> such as visual appeal, impact on the masses, idea or theme of the tableaux, degree of detail, accompanying music, and use of local resources.<\/p>\n

What are the guidelines for tableau models and performers?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

1) Writing or use of logos on tableaux is not allowed<\/strong> except the name of states or Union Territories that are presenting it.<\/p>\n

2) The names of the states should be written in Hindi in the front, in English on the back<\/strong> and in regional language on the sides of the tableau.<\/strong><\/p>\n

3) The number of performers on the trailer will not be more than 10 persons<\/strong> and artists performing on or along the tableau should be from the concerned state\/UT only.<\/p>\n
