Weather Analysis and Forecast Enabling System (WAFES)<\/strong><\/td>\n1. It is a Web-GIS-based integrated Decision Support System (DSS) platform for visualizing meteorological observations and prediction models,<\/strong> thus facilitating decision-making regarding severe weather events.
\n2. It provides real-time information for various sectors<\/strong> such as Urban, Power, Hydrology, Health, Energy, Agriculture, Transport and Tourism under the ‘UPHHEATT<\/span>‘ initiative.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Panchayat Mausam Seva Portal\u00a0 for farmers<\/strong><\/td>\n1. Developed by-<\/strong> India Meteorological Department, Ministry of Earth Sciences, Ministry of Panchayati Raj and Green Alert Mausam Sewa.
\n2. Purpose-<\/strong> This portal will deliver weather forecasts in English, Hindi,<\/span> and 12 regional languages<\/span><\/strong> to every village by providing access to each panchayat head<\/strong> and panchayat secretary.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
IMD\u2019s Mobile App<\/strong><\/td>\n1. It is an integrated GIS-based mobile app providing a range of weather services.<\/strong>
\n2. It supports 12 Indian languages for diverse users.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
National Framework of Climate Services (NFCS)<\/strong><\/td>\n1. It is a strategic initiative to establish a comprehensive and integrated system for delivering climate services and information.<\/strong>
\n2. Purpose-<\/strong> To offer crucial climate-related data and insights to diverse sectors such as agriculture, energy, disaster management, health, and water resource management.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

What is India Meteorological Department (IMD)?<\/h2>\n

IMD or the India Meteorological Department was\u00a0established in 1875.<\/strong> It is responsible for meteorological observations, weather forecasting and seismology in India.<\/p>\n
