The <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Chief deity here is Lord Krishna,<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> also known as Guruvayoorappan.<\/span><\/span><br \/>\n2. The chief deity is portrayed standing with four hands, grasping Shankh, Sudarshana Chakra, Lotus, and Mace, all <span style=\"color: #000000;\">carved from a stone known as Patala Anjana.<\/span><br \/>\n3. It follows the traditional <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kerala architectural style<\/span>.<br \/>\n4. The temple has <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">structures<\/span> like the Nalambalam (temple structure surrounding the sanctum sanctorum), Balikkal (sacrificial stone), and Deepastambam (pillar of lights).<br \/>\n5. A prominent feature is the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Dwajasthamba<\/span>, a 70-foot-tall flagstaff completely coated in gold.<br \/>\n6. In 1931-32, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Sathyagraha was initiated by Kelappan<\/span> (known as Kerala Gandhi) to advocate for the inclusion of untouchables into the temple. It resulted in the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Travancore Temple Entry Proclamation<\/span> of 1936.<br \/>\n7. The temple is known for housing a significant number of captive male Asian elephants.
