These amendments were proposed to the Muslim Women Protection of Rights on Marriage Bill.<\/p>\n<p>3. The Bill makes instant triple talaq illegal and imposes a jail term of up to three years.<\/p>\n<p><u>4. Key changes proposed in the Bill: <\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provisions for bail to an accused before the start of trial.<\/li>\n<li>Provision has been added to allow the magistrate to grant bail after hearing the wife.<\/li>\n<li>But the law will remain \u201cnon-bailable\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>The magistrate would ensure bail only after the husband agrees to pay compensation to the wife as provided in the Bill.<\/li>\n<li>Provision of registering FIRs became more stringent.<\/li>\n<li>The FIR will become cognizable if and only if when FIR is filed by victim wife or the blood relations by marriage.<\/li>\n<li>The amendment makes the offence of instant tribal talaq \u201ccompoundable\u201d.<\/li>\n<li>Under compoundable offence, both parties have the liberty of withdrawing the case.<\/li>\n<li>Now, a magistrate can use his powers to settle the dispute between a husband and his wife.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nod for three changes to triple talaq Bill News: Recently, the Union Cabinet approved crucial amendments to the triple talaq Bill.
