width: 100%;\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 10%;\"><strong>Aspect<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 90%;\">Details<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 10%;\"><strong>About<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 90%;\">1) It is a species of large cat in the genus Panthera of the family Felidae.<br \/>\n2) It is<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> native<\/span> to the mountain ranges of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Central and South Asia<\/span>.<br \/>\n3) It is a<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> top predator<\/span> in mountain ecosystem.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 10%;\"><strong>Characteristics<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 90%;\">1) It shows several adaptations for living in a cold, mountainous environments.<br \/>\n2) Its small, rounded ears help to minimize heat loss.<br \/>\n3) Its broad paws distribute the body weight for walking on snow, and have fur on their undersides to enhance the grip on steep and unstable surfaces.<br \/>\n4) Its long and flexible tail helps to balance the cat in the rocky terrain.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 10%;\"><strong>Habitat<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 90%;\">They are distributed across the mountainous landscape of Central Asia<br \/>\nthat covers different parts of the Himalayas such as Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Sikkim.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 10%;\"><strong>Conservation Status<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 90%;\">IUCN List of Threatened Species:<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Vulnerable.<\/span><br \/>\nCITES:<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Appendix I<\/span>.<br \/>\nIndian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972:<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Schedule-I<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td style=\"width: 10%;\"><strong>Conservation efforts<\/strong><\/td>\n<td style=\"width: 90%;\">1) The Government of India has identified the snow leopard as a<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> flagship species<\/span> for the high-altitude Himalayas.<br \/>\n2) India is also party to the<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Global Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Protection (GSLEP) Programme<\/span> since 2013.<br \/>\n3) <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">HimalSanrakshak<\/span>: It is a community volunteer programme, to protect snow leopards, launched in October 2020.<br \/>\n4)<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Project Snow Leopard (PSL)<\/span>: It was launched in 2009 to promote an inclusive and participatory approach to conserve snow leopards and their habitat.<br \/>\n5) Snow Leopard is included in the list <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">of 21 critically endangered species for the recovery programme<\/span> of the Ministry of Environment Forest &amp;
