{"id":28066,"date":"2018-10-23T18:00:05","date_gmt":"2018-10-23T12:30:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=28066"},"modified":"2018-10-23T18:00:05","modified_gmt":"2018-10-23T12:30:05","slug":"private-sector-investment-may-see-rise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/private-sector-investment-may-see-rise\/","title":{"rendered":"Private sector investment may see rise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/business\/private-sector-investment-may-see-rise\/article24584643.ece\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Private sector investment may see rise<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>News:<\/b><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As per the latest data by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), the value of new project announcements by the private sector rose for the first time in two years.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-23813 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/blog.forumias.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/new.jpg?resize=472%2C369\" alt=\"\" width=\"472\" height=\"369\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/new.jpg?w=472&amp;ssl=1 472w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/new.jpg?resize=150%2C117&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/new.jpg?resize=300%2C235&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 472px) 100vw, 472px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Important facts:<\/span><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The data revealed the following facts:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Private sector new project announcements, worth <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u20b9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2.02 lakh crore in the June 2018 quarter, grew 43% over what was announced in the same quarter of the previous year.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This is the first quarter of growth in this category since June 2016.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Contrary to this, the government announced new projects worth <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u20b9<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">27,453.4 crore in the June 2018 quarter, a contraction of 77.6% over the June 2017 quarter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This marks the fifth consecutive quarter of contraction in the value of government new project announcements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, the new project announcements do not provide a complete picture of investment activity in the country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There are two major issues due to which the private sector got a jolt- Demonetisation and GST.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Within private sector new project announcements, the bulk of the growth was due to the announcements made by the foreign companies.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New project announcements by the Indian private sector accounted for 30.4% of all announcements made by the private sector in the June 2018 quarter.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The foreign private sector, in comparison, accounted for an overwhelming 69.6% of such announcements.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For the revival of the private sector specifically MSMEs, the government has taken a few steps.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Private sector investment may see rise News: As per the latest data by the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE), the value of new project announcements by the private sector rose for the first time in two years.
