Origin<\/strong><\/td>\nThe royal chronicle, Cheitharol Kumbaba<\/span>, doesn\u2019t mention a specific founder. However, experts\u00a0estimate the use of Subika paintings since the 18th or 19th century.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Key points<\/strong><\/td>\n1) It is a composition of cultural motifs<\/span> made by pre-existing features and other influences encouraged by cultural world-views of the community.
\n2) The illustrations of Subika Laishaba have visual language from the elements such as lines, shapes, forms, colours, and patterns<\/span>.
\n3) These visual images become Meitei\u2019s cultural motif, and structure to create visual effects as well as express cultural significance<\/span>.
\n4) The visual images are painted on handmade paper<\/span>.
\n5) The materials of manuscripts are prepared indigenously<\/span>, either handmade paper or barks of trees.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
