Why in the news?<\/h2>\n

The union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs has launched a web portal of Coal Mines Provident Fund Organization (CMPFO) namely C- CARES to address the long-standing issue of digitizing its records and work processes.<\/p>\n

\n3) It will ensure paperless working<\/span>, timely and accurate settlement of claims, reduction in processing time and grievance redressal<\/span>.

About Coal Mines Provident Fund Organization<\/h2>\n

1) Nature of body<\/strong>– It is an autonomous organization<\/span> under the aegis of<\/span> Ministry of Coal<\/span>, established in the year 1948.<\/p>\n

2) Objective<\/strong>– It was established for administering Provident Fund and Pension schemes to ensure social security for <\/span><\/span>coal sector<\/span> workers.<\/p>\n
