Significance of recent findings<\/h2>\n

The recent findings from the GRAPES-3 experiment identify a new feature<\/span> in the cosmic-ray spectrum, which has opened new avenues for understanding<\/span>\u00a0cosmic ray phenomena.<\/p>\n

About Cosmic Ray<\/h2>\n

1) These rays were discovered more than a century ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

2) They are considered to be the most energetic particles<\/span> in the universe.<\/span><\/p>\n

3) Earth is being constantly bombarded<\/span> by cosmic ray from outer space. It comes uniformly<\/span> from all directions at a constant rate.<\/p>\n

4) They enter into Earth’s atmosphere and induce a shower of particles<\/span>. These particles travel to the ground almost at the speed of light.<\/span><\/p>\n

5) The shower particles consist of electrons, photons, muons, protons, neutrons<\/span> etc.<\/p>\n

6) They have been observed over a remarkably wide energy<\/span> range (108<\/sup>\u00a0to 1020<\/sup>\u00a0eV).<\/p>\n
