This happened due to negative impact of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">unfair practices<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Objective<\/strong>&#8211; To bring greater <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">transparency<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">fairness<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">credibility<\/span> to the public examination systems.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Applicability<\/strong>&#8211; The bill is applicable to central recruitment and entrance exams conducted by <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), National\u00a0Testing Agency (NTA) and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prescribed punishment<\/strong>&#8211; For cheating-<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">minimum of 3 to 5 years<\/span> of imprisonment.<br \/>\nFor <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">organised crimes of cheating<\/span>, punishment will be<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> 5 to 10 years<\/span> of imprisonment and a minimum <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">fine of Rs 1 crore<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>High level National Technical Committee on Public Examinations<\/strong>&#8211; The bill seeks to set up a high level committee to develop protocol for <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">developing foolproof IT security system<\/span> for <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">online<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">technology based exams<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>&#8211; The proposed bill protects<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> candidates<\/span> <span style=\"color: #333333;\">from<\/span> its provisions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>UPSC Syllabus- Bills &amp; Acts<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Source- This post on The Public Examinations Bill 2024 has been created based on the article &#8220;Government introduces a Bill in the Lok Sabha titled &#8220;Home Education Explained: 10 Year Jail Term, Rs 1 Crore Fine; &#8221; published in &#8220;India.com&#8221; on 6 February 2024.
