The Minister of State for Heavy Industries has recently informed the Lok Sabha about SAMARTH Centres.<\/p>\n

About SAMARTH Centres<\/h2>\n

Established<\/strong>– The Smart Advanced Manufacturing and Rapid Transformation Hub<\/span> (SAMARTH) centres are set up under the Scheme for \u201cEnhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector<\/span>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Objective<\/strong>-To provide assistance to the MSMEs to train the workforce and make them aware about Industry 4.0 technologies<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Methods of training<\/strong>– These centres have been using the following methods-<\/p>\n

1) Organizing Seminars\/ Workshops<\/span> and knowledge sharing events on Industry 4.0.<\/p>\n

2) Training industries to create awareness<\/span> about Industry 4.0.<\/p>\n

3) Providing consultancy<\/span> (in areas such as IOT Hardware, Software development, data analytics)<\/p>\n

4) Incubation support<\/span> to start-ups including MSMEs.<\/p>\n

About the Enhancement of Competitiveness in the Indian Capital Goods Sector scheme<\/h2>\n

Launched by<\/strong>– Ministry of Heavy Industries<\/span><\/p>\n

Objective<\/strong>– To address the technological obsolescence<\/span>, limited access to quality industrial infrastructure and common facilities.<\/p>\n

Components of the Scheme<\/strong>–<\/p>\n

1) Identification of Technologies through Technology Innovation Portals<\/p>\n

2) Setting up of four New Advanced Centres of Excellence and augmentation of Existing Centres of Excellence<\/p>\n

3) Promotion of skilling in Capital Goods Sector\u2013creation of Qualification packages for skill levels 6 and above.<\/p>\n

4) Setting up of four Common Engineering Facility Centres (CEFCs) and augmentation of existing CEFCs<\/p>\n

5) Augmentation of Existing Testing and Certification Centres<\/p>\n

6) Setting up of ten Industry Accelerators for Technology Development<\/p>\n

NOTE- SAMARTH PORTAL<\/strong>– It is a purpose built platform for Universities and HEIs to deploy a digital framework of good governance<\/span>.<\/p>\n

SAMARTH SCHEME<\/strong><\/a>– It is a demand driven and placement-oriented<\/span> umbrella skilling programme of Ministry of Textiles<\/span>.<\/p>\n
