The Central government has recently approved the \u201cPradhan Mantri Matsya Kisan Samridhi Sah-Yojana (PM-MKSSY).<\/p>\n

About<\/strong><\/td>\nThe PM-MKSSY is a central sector sub-scheme under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada for formalisation<\/span> of the fisheries sector.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Objective<\/strong><\/td>\n1) Gradual formalisation<\/span> of the unorganized fisheries<\/span> sector through self registration of fishers, fish farmers
\n2) Facilitating access to institutional financing<\/span>, fisheries sector micro and small enterprises.
\n3) Providing one-time incentive<\/span> to beneficiaries for purchasing aquaculture insurance<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Duration<\/strong><\/td>\nPeriod of next four 4 years from FY 2023-24 to FY 2026-27<\/span> in all States\/Union Territories.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Funding<\/strong><\/td>\nTotal outlay- Rs.6,000 crore-
\n50% i.e. Rs.3,000 crore will be provided by public finance including the World Bank and the AFD external financing<\/span>, and rest 50% i.e.Rs.3,000 crore will be provided by private sector\/benefeciaries.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Intended benefeciaries<\/strong><\/td>\nFishers, Fish (Aquaculture) Farmers, Fish workers, Fish Vendors or such other person directly engaged in fisheries value chain.
\nMicro and Small enterprises,SHGs, Fish Farmers Producer Organizations<\/span> (FFPOs) and Startups in fisheries sector<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Digital platform<\/strong><\/td>\n National Fisheries Digital Platform<\/span> will be created to provide 40 lakh small and micro-enterprises work-based identities.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Major components<\/strong><\/td>\n1) Formalisation of fisheries sector
\n2) Facilitating adoption of aquaculture insurance
\n3) Adoption and expansion of fish and fishery product safety and quality assurance systems
\n4) Project management<\/span>, monitoring<\/span> and reporting<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Significance<\/strong><\/td>\n1) It will create 1.7 lakh new jobs, with a special emphasis on employing 75,000 women<\/span>.
\n2) It will improve value chain efficiency<\/span> and ensuring safe, quality fish<\/span> by supporting 55,000 targeted micro and small enterprises.
\n3) It will ensure environment friendly<\/span> fisheries sector.
\n4) It will Facilitate Ease of Doing Business<\/span> and transparency<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
