About<\/strong><\/td>\n\u2018Kilkari\u2019 means \u2018a baby\u2019s gurgle\u2019. It is a centralized interactive<\/span> voice response (IVR) based mobile health service.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Objective<\/strong><\/td>\nTo improve families’ knowledge and uptake of life-saving preventative<\/span> health practices.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Funding<\/strong><\/td>\nCost is completely born<\/span> by the central government. It is centrally hosted<\/span> by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Implementation<\/strong><\/td>\nThe programme is integrated with the centralized Reproductive Child Health (RCH) portal<\/span> of MoHFW\u2019s.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Features<\/strong><\/td>\n1) It delivers free, weekly, time-appropriate 72 audio messages<\/span> about pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare directly to families\u2019 mobile phones.
\n2) It starts sending messages from the second trimester of pregnancy until the child is one year old.<\/span>
\n2) Women who are registered in Reproductive Child Health (RCH) portal also receive a weekly call with pre-recorded audio content<\/span> directly on their mobile phones
\n3) Kilkari audio messages are present in the form of the voice of a fictitious doctor<\/span> character called Dr. Anita.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Current state of implementation<\/strong><\/td>\nIt is under implementation in 18 States \/ UTs<\/span> of India.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

What is mobile academy?<\/h2>\n

1) It is a free audio training course designed to expand and refresh the knowledge of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA)<\/a>. This course is provided on their mobile phones<\/span> to improve their communication skills<\/span>.
\n2) Accessibility<\/strong>-It is an anytime, anywhere training course that can train thousands<\/span> of ASHAs simultaneously via mobile phone.
\n3) Languages<\/strong>-It is available in six languages<\/span> viz. Hindi, Bhojpuri, Oriya, Assamese, Bengali & Telugu versions.
\n4) Current state of operation<\/strong>-It is operational in 17 States\/UTs except Chandigarh.<\/p>\n
