Why in the news?<\/h2>\n

The Union agriculture minister has recently launched Sarathi portal for insurance products to help farmers.<\/p>\n

Introduction<\/strong>– SARTHI is the comprehensive digital insurance platform launched in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme<\/span> (UNDP) India.<\/p>\n

Objective<\/strong>-To provide a comprehensive suite of insurance products<\/span> including PMFBY<\/a>(Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana) to farmers.<\/p>\n

Coverage<\/strong>-It extends coverage to health, life, home, shop, agriculture implements<\/span>, motor, and parametric products.<\/p>\n

Features of the portal<\/strong>-1) It will be a single-window platform<\/span> for viewing, purchasing and availing insurance products.
\n2) It will have user-friendly interfaces<\/span> for stakeholders.
\n3) It Wil have digital payment<\/span> and effortless claim initiation<\/span> options.<\/p>\n

Access<\/strong>-It can be accessed via the AIDE app available on Android App Store.<\/p>\n

Significance of SARTHI Portal<\/h2>\n

1) It offers a diverse range<\/span> of products. These products are designed to cater to farmers’ needs.<\/p>\n

2) By expanding insurance coverage to include vital assets like tractor machinery, SARTHI empowers farmers to comprehensively mitigate risks<\/span>.<\/p>\n

3) It will safeguard farmers’ livelihoods<\/span> and also fortify the resilience of the agricultural sector<\/span> as a whole.<\/p>\n

Other initiatives taken by the government<\/h2>\n

1) Learning Management System (LMS)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Developed by<\/strong>-It is developed in collaboration with the National E-Governance Division (NeGD).<\/span>
\nObjective<\/strong>– To provide all stakeholders<\/span> with the essential skills and knowledge needed for efficient crop insurance<\/span> and agricultural credit<\/span>.
\nStrategy<\/strong>-The LMS will facilitate training<\/span> and knowledge sharing<\/span> through interactive modules and personalized training programs.<\/p>\n

2) Krishi Rakshak Portal and Helpline (KRPH) 14447<\/strong><\/p>\n

The platform provides support to farmers to ensure real-time resolution of grievances<\/span> related to compensation delays<\/span> and insurance queries<\/span>.<\/p>\n
