A panel representing India\u2019s science academies will launch SWATI portal that aims to include each and every woman in science in the country.<\/p>\n

Initiative of<\/strong><\/td>\nThis is the initiative of Inter Academy Panel (IAP)<\/span> on Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics & Medicine (STEMM)<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Features<\/strong><\/td>\n1)\u00a0 It contains a comprehensive database profiling<\/span> Indian women across science, technology, engineering, mathematics and medicine (STEMM) fields.
\n2) It has a separate section<\/span> highlighting women scientists working in academia (universities, research institutes), industry, as entrepreneurs, and other career.
\n3) It includes profiles of iconic women scientists<\/span> from India who are recipient of prestigious honors like the Padma awards, Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar awards, or Stree Shakti Science Samman.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Significance<\/strong><\/td>\n1) It will address gender gap challenges<\/span> in\u00a0 STEMM community.
\n2) It will motivate and encourage<\/span> more young women and girls to pursue education and careers in scientific fields
