It <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">enables students to acquire skills while pursuing education and vice versa<\/span>, facilitating greater access.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What is the National Credit Framework (NCrF)?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>About<\/strong>&#8211; It is a unified meta-framework that <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">accumulates credits earned from school education, higher education, and vocational and skill education<\/span>.\u00a0Under this system, credits will be assigned to academic learning.<br \/>\n<strong>1.<\/strong> <strong>It consists of three verticals<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<strong>a.<\/strong> National School Education Qualification Framework (NSEQF)<br \/>\n<strong>b.<\/strong> National Higher Education Qualification Framework (NHEQF)<br \/>\n<strong>c.<\/strong> National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Developed by<\/strong>&#8211; It is jointly developed by <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">University Grants Commission (UGC)<\/span>, AICTE, NCVET, NIOS, CBSE, NCERT, DGT, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Skill Development.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What are the various provisions of National Credit Framework (NCrF)?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> <strong>Blending Academic and Vocational Education<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<strong>a.<\/strong> The <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/one-year-of-national-education-policy-explained-pointwise\/#gsc.tab=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">National Education Policy (NEP)<\/span> <\/a>2020 emphasizes the fusion of academic and vocational education, which is facilitated by the NCrF.<br \/>\n<strong>b.<\/strong> This mechanism <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">guarantees parity<\/span> within and across the two educational pathways.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> <strong>Credit System<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<strong>a.<\/strong> The yearly &#8216;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Notional Learning hours<\/span>&#8216; for Credit allocation will be <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">set at 1200 hours<\/span>. Students can earn a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">minimum of 40 credits through 1200 hours of learning each year<\/span>, with 20 credits available per six-month semester<br \/>\n<strong>Note<\/strong>&#8211; Notional hours represent the time needed for students to attend classes, study for exams, and complete assignments and homework.<br \/>\n<strong>b.<\/strong> Students will earn <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">160 credits throughout their schooling<\/span>.<br \/>\n<strong>c.<\/strong> A three-year bachelor&#8217;s degree results in <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">120 credits<\/span>.<br \/>\n<strong>d.<\/strong> Upon completing a Ph.D., students acquire <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">320 credits<\/span>.<br \/>\n<strong>e.<\/strong> Students also <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">gain credits for participating in Olympiads, science quizzes, internships<\/span>, and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">jobs during college<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Credit Levels<\/strong>: The NCrF <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">proposes levels from 1 to 8.<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>a.<\/strong> The credit level achievable after finishing school education-\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">grade 5 completion is level 1, grade 8 is level 2, grade 10 is level 3<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">grade 12 is level 4<\/span><br \/>\n<strong>b.<\/strong> Higher education ranges from levels 4.5 to 8.<br \/>\n<strong>c.<\/strong> Vocational education and training ranges from levels 1 to 8.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Aadhaar-Enabled Student Registration<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<strong>a.<\/strong> Students first have to register with Aadhaar, and then an <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Academic Bank of Credit (ABC)<\/span> account will be created.<br \/>\n<strong>b.<\/strong> The accounts will <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">receive deposits of degrees and credits<\/span>.
