{"id":28271,"date":"2018-10-24T11:34:11","date_gmt":"2018-10-24T06:04:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=28271"},"modified":"2018-10-24T11:34:11","modified_gmt":"2018-10-24T06:04:11","slug":"increased-cancer-risk-for-diabetics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/increased-cancer-risk-for-diabetics\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Increased cancer risk for diabetics\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehindu.com\/sci-tech\/health\/increased-cancer-risk-for-diabetics\/article24476518.ece\">\u2018Increased cancer risk for diabetics\u2019<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>News<\/u><\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The recent study by the George Institute for Global health says diabetes conferred an additional risk for women, compared to men.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><u>Important facts:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>For the study the group analyzed the data from 47 studies around the world<\/li>\n<li><u>Following are the findings of the research:<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>People with diabetes are at significantly increased risk of developing cancer, and for women the risk is even higher.<\/li>\n<li>Diabetes conferred an additional risk for women, for luckaemia and cancers of the stomach, mouth and kidney, but less risk to liver cancer.<\/li>\n<li>The findings highlight the need for more research into the role diabetes plays in developing cancer.<\/li>\n<li>Researchers also demonstrate the increasing of sex specific research.<\/li>\n<li>The report said that the number of people with diabetes has doubled globally in the last three decades.<\/li>\n<li><u>Reasons why women were subject to an excess risk of cancer:-<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>a.) Women are in a state of impaired glucose tolerance (called prediabetes) on average for two years longer compared to men.<\/p>\n<p>b.)
