Description<\/strong><\/td>\nIt is endemic<\/span> to the Western Ghats of Karnataka<\/span> and Kerala<\/span>, specifically above the Palghat Gap.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Habitat<\/strong><\/td>\nIt is predominantly found in evergreen and semi-evergreen forests<\/span> in the Western Ghats of India.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Characteristics<\/strong><\/td>\n1) These frogs prefer to reside near streams, ponds, and other water bodies, where they can lay their eggs and find their food.
\n2) Diet<\/strong>– They are insectivorous<\/span> and feed on a range of small insects and arthropods such as ants, beetles, and crickets<\/span>.
\n3) Size<\/strong>– It is about the size of a human thumb<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Threats<\/strong><\/td>\n1) Habitat loss and fragmentation.<\/span>

What is Bonnet mushroom?<\/h2>\n

1) It is commonly found as a saprotroph<\/span><\/a> (an organism that feeds on non-living organic<\/span> matter) on rotting wood.
\n2) Some species are edible<\/span>, while others contain toxins<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Note-Mutualism<\/strong>– It is an association between organisms of two different species in which each benefits<\/span>.
\nMutualistic arrangements are most likely to develop between organisms with widely different living requirements.<\/p>\n
