INTERPOL Notices are international requests for cooperation<\/span> or alerts, allowing police in member countries to share critical crime-related<\/span> information.<\/p>\n

Yellow Notice<\/strong><\/td>\nTo locate a missing person<\/span> or to identify a person unable to identify himself\/herself.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

What is the difference between Blue corner and Red corner notice?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Area of differences<\/strong><\/td>\nBlue corner\u00a0<\/strong><\/td>\nRed corner<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Objective<\/strong><\/td>\nIt allows police forces<\/span> in member states to share critical crime-related information such as obtaining a person\u2019s criminal record<\/span>, and location etc.<\/td>\nIt allows member state<\/span> to arrest a wanted criminal through extradition<\/span> or any other similar lawful action<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Example<\/strong><\/td>\nIn January 2020, Interpol issued a blue corner notice to help locate fugitive self-styled godman Nithyananda.<\/span><\/td>\nIn 2018, a red corner notice was issued against fugitive billionaire Nirav Modi<\/span> in relation to the Punjab National Bank scam<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Timing<\/strong><\/td>\nBlue corner notices are issued prior to the filing<\/span> of criminal charges<\/td>\nRed corner notices generally follow criminal convictions<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Political abuse<\/strong><\/td>\nThey are less scrutinised<\/span> than their red corner notices.
\nCountries exploit existing protocols<\/span> to target political refugees and dissidents
\n<\/span>For ex<\/strong>-Blue\u00a0notices have roughly doubled in number over the past decade.<\/td>\n		They may also be abused for targeting political refugees and dissidents.
\nFor ex<\/strong>-As per Freedom House, Freedom\u00a0House, Russia is responsible for 38% of all public red notices.<\/span><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
