Description<\/strong>– It is the world’s leading forum<\/span> for debating international security policy<\/span>. It is often referred to as the \u2018Davos of Defence<\/span>\u2019.<\/p>\n

Objective<\/strong>– Its objective is to build trust and contribute to the peaceful resolution<\/span> of conflicts, by sustaining a continuous and informal dialogue within the international security community<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Venue<\/strong>– It has been held in Munich, Germany<\/span>, since 1963<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Frequency of conference<\/strong>– The conference is held annually in February<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Key features-
\n<\/strong>1) It is a venue for diplomatic initiatives<\/span> to address the world’s most pressing security<\/span> concerns.<\/p>\n

What is North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Description<\/strong>– It is a transatlantic security alliance of 31 like-minded North American and European countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Origin- <\/strong>It was established by the North Atlantic Treaty (also called the Washington Treaty)<\/span> on April 4, 1949.<\/p>\n

Objective<\/strong>– Its objective is to protect peace and to guarantee the territorial integrity<\/span>, political independence<\/span>, and security<\/span> of the member states.<\/p>\n

Headquarters<\/strong>– Brussels, Belgium<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Most important article of the treaty<\/strong>– Article Five (V)<\/span>– If an armed attack occurs against one of the member states, it should be considered an attack against all members. <\/span>This article forms the core of the Alliance, a promise of collective defence<\/span>.<\/p>\n
