Uttar Pradesh has recently secured \u20b9740 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) programme.<\/p>\n

Description<\/strong><\/td>\nIt was initially launched as Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) in 2013. It was renamed as PM-USHA in 2023.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Objective<\/strong><\/td>\nTo improve the overall quality<\/span> of existing state of higher educational institutions by ensuring their conformity<\/span> to prescribed norms<\/span> and standards<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

\n2) Establishment of Model Degree Colleges.<\/span>
\n3) Grants for strengthening universities.<\/span>
\n4) Focus on remote<\/span>, LWE-affected,<\/span> Aspirational<\/span>, and low Gross Enrollment<\/span> Ratio regions
\n5) Aid to state governments for gender inclusion<\/span>, equity<\/span>, and ICT-based<\/span> employability skills<\/span>.
\n6) It is in alignment with the National Education Policy<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Eligibility criteria to get PM-USHA funding<\/strong><\/td>\nThe colleges of any discipline under the Section 2(f) of the UGC Act<\/span> are eligible for the funds.
\nThe colleges must have grade A of NAAC accreditation<\/span> or a good NBA score.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Significance<\/strong><\/td>\n1) It has the potential to transform higher education<\/span>.
\n2) It is in consonance with the objective of National Education Policy<\/span>.
\n3) It will promote quality<\/span>, equity,<\/span> and innovation<\/span> in higher education.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
