Recently, at the Raisina Dialogue, Chief of Defence Staff Gen. Anil Chauhan made a statement regarding grey-zone warfare, specifically in reference to China<\/span>.<\/p>\n

What is Grey Zone Warfare?<\/h2>\n

1.<\/strong> Grey Zone Warfare is a strategy where a country tries to gain an advantage without openly going to war.<\/span><\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> It involves tactics like cyberattacks<\/span>, misinformation<\/span>, and economic pressure<\/span> to weaken an opponent.<\/p>\n

3.<\/strong> China has been skillfully using this strategy, especially against India and neighboring countries.<\/p>\n

What are China’s Grey Zone Tactics against India?<\/h2>\n

1. South China Sea Activities-<\/strong>\u00a0China employs naval<\/span> and civilian vessels<\/span> to assert its control over the South China Sea. It causes tensions with neighboring countries, including India.<\/p>\n

2. Constructing infrastructure in border areas<\/strong>– China builds infrastructure and establishes villages close to India’s borders. It reinforces its territorial assertions<\/span> and gains strategic benefits.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3. Investments in digital technologies- <\/strong>China directs investments into apps, media, and various digital platforms within India. This presence in the digital sphere holds the potential to mold public perceptions<\/span> and narratives<\/span>.<\/p>\n
