Further, the government has mooted for a separate TV channel for live-streaming court proceedings<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong><u>Important Facts:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Petitioners have advocated that citizens have the right to information and matters of national importance should be live-streamed. In case live-streaming is not possible, there should be provision for video-recording<\/li>\n<li><u>Benefits of live-streaming court proceedings:<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Easy Access: Would help litigants follow the proceedings in their case. People from distant places do not have to travel to Delhi for the hearings<\/li>\n<li>Would help litigant address their lawyer\u2019s performance<\/li>\n<li>Would keep a check on lawyer\u2019s conduct inside the courtroom<\/li>\n<li>Help in ensuring transparency in the administration of the justice<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><u>Precautions to be taken:<\/u><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Cases related to national security concerns; matrimonial disputes and rapes should not be live-streamed.
