About<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>a. Guru Ravidas was a mystic poet saint of the Bhakti Movement from the 15th and 16th centuries, and founded the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Ravidassia religion<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>b. He was a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">revered poet <span style=\"color: #333333;\">and a<\/span> renowned philosopher<\/span><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Birth- <\/strong>He was born in <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">1377 CE<\/span> in<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Seer Govardhanpur<\/span> in <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Uttar Pradesh<\/span><strong>. <\/strong>His place of birth is now known as <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Shri Guru Ravidass Janam Asthan<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>3. <strong>Life history:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>a. Despite belonging to a community whose initial occupation was in leatherwork, Ravidas shifted his focus to spiritual pursuits, spending much of his time on the banks of the Ganges.<\/p>\n<p>b. Throughout his life, he associated with <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Sufi saints<\/span>,<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> sadhus<\/span>, and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">ascetics<\/span><strong>. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>c. At the age of 12, Ravidas was married to Lona Devi, and they had a son named<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> Vijay Dass<\/span><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>3. <strong>Teachings and Works:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>a. Since his birth, Guru Ravidas devoted his life to advocating for <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">human rights and equality<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>b.\u00a0 A few of his compositions were also included in <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Guru Granth Sahib Ji<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>c. He is one of the most famous personalities of the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">nirguna sampradaya<\/span> (<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">sant parampara<\/span>) and was one of the prominent leaders of the North Indian Bhakti movement.<\/p>\n<p>d. He also became a <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">symbol of opposition to untouchability in society<\/span> by the higher caste people for lower caste people.<\/p>\n<p>e) Sant Guru Ravidas Jayanti is hugely observed in the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Northern part of India including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, and Haryana<\/span>.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>About Guru Ravidas Jayanti<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>a. Sant Ravidas Jayanti or birthday anniversary is celebrated every year on <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Magh Purnima<\/span> on <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">full moon day of Magh month<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>b. On this special day, a ceremony of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Nagar Kirtan <\/span>procession is performed by people with the chants of mantras during Aarti.<\/p>\n<p>c. Music, songs, and Doha are sung in the temples located on the streets.<\/p>\n<p>d.
