Population diversity<\/strong>&#8211; India has more than <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">4,600 distinct population groups<\/span>, with many practicing endogamy. These factors contributed to the genetic diversity of the current population.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Unique variations<\/strong>&#8211; Some Indian groups have a higher prevalence of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">disease-causing mutations<\/span> due to unique variations in their population. This underscores the importance of studying India&#8217;s genetic landscape.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Note<\/strong>&#8211; All the data will be stored at the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Indian Biological Data Centre (IBDC)<\/span> for public research. The IBDC is the country&#8217;s <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">only databank<\/span> for life science data, established in 2022.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>What is Genome Sequencing?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> <strong>About<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<strong>a.<\/strong> It is the process of determining the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">precise order of nucleotides<\/span> (adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine) within an organism&#8217;s DNA.<br \/>\n<strong>b.<\/strong> It involves reading the genetic code contained in the DNA molecules to identify specific sequences of nucleotides.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Significance<\/strong>&#8211; It allows scientists to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">understand the complete genetic makeup of an organism<\/span>, including its genes, regulatory sequences, and other functional elements.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.
