Why in the News?<\/h2>\n

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted two flight tests of the Very Short-Range Air Defence System (VSHORADS) missile. The test was conducted from the Integrated Test Range off Odisha’s Chandipur.<\/p>\n

Features<\/td>\n1. It is meant for neutralising low altitude aerial threats<\/span> at short ranges.
\n2. The missile has many novel technologies including Dual-band IIR Seeker, miniaturised Reaction Control System and integrated avionics.\u00a0<\/span>
\n3. It is more portable and lightweight<\/span> than the other missile systems in the Army’s arsenal.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
