This Tiger Reserve (ATR) is one of the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">largest tiger reserves<\/span> in India.<br \/>\n2. Amrabad is the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">second-largest Tiger Reserve in terms of core area.<\/span><br \/>\n3. It is also the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">sixth largest in terms of total area <\/span>among 51 Tiger Reserves in India.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Location<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>It is located in the Nagarkurnool and Nalgonda districts in the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">southern part of\u00a0Telangana.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>History<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>The reserve was notified as a sanctuary in the year 1983.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Distinct feature<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>1. Amrabad Tiger Reserve Forest is <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">home to the largest number of Tigers in Telangana State.<\/span><br \/>\n2. The hilly terrain of this Tiger Reserve, with deep valleys and gorges, forms the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">catchment of the Krishna River<\/span>.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Flora<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>1. Dense grass occurs in 30% of the area and scattered in an additional 20%.<br \/>\n2. Dominant tree species include <em>Terminalia tomentosa, Hardwickia binata, Madhuca latifolia. Diospyros melanoxylon<\/em>,\u00a0<em>Gardenia latifolia, Anogeissus latifolia, Chloroxylon swietenia, Terminalia<\/em>\u00a0spp.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><strong>Fauna<\/strong><\/td>\n<td>1. Major wild animals found are Tiger, Leopard, Wild dog, Indian Wolf, Indian fox, Rusty-spotted cat, Small Indian civet, Sloth bear, Honeybadger, Wild boar etc.<br \/>\n2. Over 303 bird species have been identified in this region.
