Two semiconductor plant will be set up in Gujarat and one will be set up in Assam.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>About Semiconductor fabrication\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\">1. About:<\/span> <\/strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Semiconductor device fabrication<\/span>\u00a0is the intricate process used to create<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">\u00a0integrated circuits (ICs)<span style=\"color: #333333;\"> which are<\/span> <\/span>the building blocks of modern electronic devices.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. The fabrication process is the toughest part in manufacturing semiconductors, as it requires <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">clean rooms<\/span> to maintain sterile conditions and prevent contamination by air particles.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. It&#8217;s a very lengthy process to manufacture the final product of a semiconductor, which includes around 500 and 1,500 steps in the overall manufacturing process of semiconductor wafers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">4. This process also conducts various inputs like<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> silicon wafers, commodity chemicals, speciality chemicals along with clean water supply and uninterrupted power supply.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\">5. Technology used in semiconductor fabrication:<\/span> <\/strong>In\u00a0semiconductor fabrication, various technologies come together to <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">transform raw silicon wafers into intricate integrated circuits (ICs)<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\">a. <strong>Wafer Preparation<\/strong>:<\/span> The process starts with a <span style=\"color: #333333;\">wafer,<\/span> which is typically made of <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">pure single-crystal semiconducting material\u00a0<\/span>(usually silicon). The wafer undergoes several steps, including\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">thermal oxidation\u00a0<\/span>and\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">thin-film deposition<\/span>, gradually forming electronic circuits.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>b. Photolithography<\/strong>:<\/span> This step involves\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">masking\u00a0and\u00a0exposing <\/span>the wafer to light. This creates intricate patterns on its surface which define the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">locations of transistors, capacitors, and other components.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>c. Ion Implantation<\/strong>:<\/span> In the process of <span style=\"color: #333333;\">Ion Implantation, h<\/span>igh-energy ions are precisely implanted into the wafer to alter its electrical properties. This step helps create\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">doped regions<\/span>\u00a0necessary for transistor operation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>d. Etching<\/strong>:<\/span> In this process, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">unwanted material is selectively removed<\/span> from the wafer using chemical etchants. This process shapes the various components.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>e. Thin-Film Deposition<\/strong>:<\/span> Thin layers of materials (such as silicon dioxide or metal) are <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">deposited onto the wafer<\/span> which serve as insulators, conductors, or gate oxides.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>f. Annealing and Activation<\/strong>:<\/span> In this process, the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">wafer is heated to activate dopants and repair any damage<\/span> caused during previous steps. The wafer\u2019s surface is polished to achieve a flat and smooth finish.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong>h. Die Singulation<\/strong>:<\/span>\u00a0The wafer contains multiple integrated circuits, known as dies.
