Recently, the Minister of Communications, Mr. Ashwini Vaishnaw, launched the Department of Telecommunications (DoT)’s ‘Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP)<\/span>‘ and the ‘Chakshu facility<\/span>‘ on the Sanchar Saathi portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

About Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP)<\/strong><\/h2>\n

1. About<\/strong>– It serves as a secure<\/span> and unified<\/span> platform<\/span> for real-time intelligence sharing<\/span>, information exchange<\/span>, and coordination<\/span> among various stakeholders. Stakeholders includes Telecom Service Providers (TSPs), law enforcement agencies (LEAs), banks and financial institutions (FIs), social media platforms, and identity document issuing authorities.<\/p>\n

2. Developed by<\/strong>– Department of Telecommunications<\/p>\n

3. Features:<\/strong>
\na.<\/strong> The portal also includes details of cases identified as misuse of telecom resources. The shared information may benefit stakeholders in their respective fields.
\nb.<\/strong> It also functions as a backend storage system<\/span> for requests initiated by citizens on the Sanchar Saathi portal, which stakeholders can act upon.
\nc.<\/strong> The DIP is available to stakeholders through secure connections<\/span>, and they receive relevant information based on their roles.<\/p>\n

Note-<\/strong><\/span> Citizens do not have access to this platform<\/span>.<\/p>\n

What is Chakshu facility?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

1.<\/strong> About<\/strong>– It is the latest feature added to the citizen-centric services already available on the Department of Telecommunications’ Sanchar Saathi portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2. Features:<\/strong>
\na.<\/strong> It allows citizens to report suspected fraudulent communications<\/span> received through calls, SMS<\/span>, or WhatsApp<\/span>.
\nb. <\/strong>Fraudulent messages which are included – Messages related<\/span> <\/span>to\u00a0KYC updates, changes to bank accounts, payment wallets, SIM cards, gas connections, or electricity connections, as well as instances of sextortion or impersonation as a government official or relative requesting money, and disconnection of all mobile numbers by the Department of Telecommunications.<\/p>\n
