The Defence Ministry has recently signed a \u20b9200 crore contract with Big Bang Boom Solutions Private Ltd. (BBBS) for anti-drone systems under the iDEX initiative.<\/p>\n

About the BBBS’s anti-drone systems<\/h2>\n

BBBS’s Vajra Sentinel System is a state-of-the-art solution to spot, track, and stop drones over long distances.<\/p>\n

Features:<\/strong>
\na.<\/strong> It uses passive RF sensor technology<\/span> to avoid false alarms, and its sensor-jammer combo meets tough military durability and reliability standards.
\nb.<\/strong> The system’s advanced sensor, powered by AI<\/span> and computer vision<\/span>, accurately detects, classifies, and locates drones.
\nc.<\/strong> It also autonomously deploys countermeasures like signal jamming<\/span> based on a sophisticated decision-making matrix.<\/p>\n

About Innovations for Defence Excellence (iDEX) initiative<\/h2>\n

Launched by<\/strong>– Government of India in 2018.<\/p>\n

Funding<\/strong>– It is funded and managed by the Defence Innovation Organization(DIO).<\/p>\n

Aim-<\/strong> It primarily aims at creation of an ecosystem to foster innovation<\/span> and technology development in Defence and Aerospace<\/span> by engaging Industries including MSMEs, start-ups among others.<\/p>\n

It funds MSMEs, startups, innovators, R&D institutes, and academia for research and development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
