Similar to a central processing unit (CPU), a GPU is a chip component found in computing devices.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Purpose<\/strong>&#8211; GPUs serve <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">purposes in both professional<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">personal computing<\/span>. Initially, they were designed for rendering 2D and 3D images, animations, and videos, but now they have a wider use.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Applications-<\/strong> Creative content creation, video editing, high-performance computing (HPC), and artificial intelligence (AI).<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Key difference between CPU and GPU:<br \/>\na. <\/strong>One key difference is that the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">GPU is designed to accelerate<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">manage graphics tasks<\/span>, displaying graphics content on devices such as PCs or smartphones.<br \/>\n<strong>b.<\/strong> A <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">regular modern CPU has around 8 to 16 &#8220;cores<\/span>,&#8221; each handling tasks one by one. In contrast, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">GPUs have thousands of smaller cores that work simultaneously<\/span>, or &#8220;<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">in parallel<\/span>,&#8221; for swift processing.<\/p>\n<h2>How does a GPU work?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>1.<\/strong> GPUs <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">operate through parallel processing<\/span>, employing multiple processors to manage different segments of a single task.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. <\/strong>A GPU <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">also includes its own RAM to store the data it processes<\/span>. This RAM is tailored to handle the large volumes of information required for intense graphics tasks.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3.<\/strong> In graphics applications, the CPU instructs the GPU to render the graphics content displayed on the screen.
