Why in the News?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Recently, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports inaugurated the unique Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) programme.<\/p>\n

Description<\/strong>
\n<\/strong><\/td>\n		i) KIRTI is part of the flagship Central Sector Scheme<\/span>\u00a0called\u00a0Khelo India.<\/a><\/span>
\nii) It is scouting and training programme<\/span> to build a culture of sports and also create a cradle of talent that can win India medals at global competitions.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Aim<\/strong><\/td>\nScout talent among school-goers between the age of 9 and 18 years<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Objective<\/strong><\/td>\ni) To hunt talent<\/span> from every nook and corner of the country
\nii) To use sports as a tool to curb addiction<\/span> towards drugs and other gadgetry distractions<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Concerned Ministry<\/strong><\/td>\nMinistry of Youth Affairs and Sports<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Features<\/b><\/td>\ni) KIRTI aims to conduct 20 lakh assessments<\/span> across the country throughout the year to identify talent through notified Talent Assessment Centres.
\nii) KIRTI is launched across 50 centres<\/span> in India. Fifty thousand applicants are being assessed in the first phase across 10 sports, including athletics, boxing, wrestling, hockey, football and wrestling.
\niii) KIRTI\u2019s athlete-centric programme<\/span> is conspicuous by its transparent selection methodology based on Information Technology.
\niv) Data analytics based on Artificial Intelligence is being used to predict the sporting acumen in an aspiring athlete.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
