Why in the News?<\/h2>\n

India<\/span> and the United States<\/span> will conduct a bilateral tri-Service<\/span> Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Exercise called Tiger Triumph \u2013 24<\/span><\/span><\/span>. It will take place on the Eastern Seaboard from March 18 to March 31, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Exercise Tiger Triumph<\/strong><\/p>\n

About<\/strong>– It is the first tri-service military exercise between India<\/span> and USA<\/span>. India has previously conducted tri-service exercises only with Russia<\/span>.<\/p>\n

First edition<\/strong>– 2019<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

About Exercise Tiger Triumph-24<\/h2>\n

1. Aim<\/strong>– The exercise aims to improve cooperation<\/span> between the forces of both countries in conducting HADR operations<\/span> and to refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)<\/span> for smoother coordination.<\/p>\n

2. Phases of the exercise<\/strong>– The exercise will be conducted in two phases<\/span>– Harbour Phase and Sea phase
\na. Harbour Phase<\/strong>– It will be carried out at Visakhapatnam<\/span>. Personnel from both navies will engage in Training Visits<\/span>, Subject Matter Expert Exchanges<\/span>, Sports Events, and Social interactions during this time.
\nb. Sea Phase<\/strong>– It will be carried out at Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh<\/span>. After the Harbour Phase, the ships, carrying troops, will sail for the Sea Phase and conduct Maritime, Amphibious, and HADR operations<\/span> based on given scenarios.<\/p>\n
