Author observe that in last few year India\u2019s foreign policy is tilted towards US, but PM recent speech at Singapore and\u00a0 SCO indicate reorientation of India\u2019s Foreign policy.<\/p>\n<p>3. Excerpts of PM speech at Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore on June 1<\/p>\n<p><u>India\u2019s as an independent power:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Today the world is facing power shifts, uncertainty and competition over geopolitical ideas and political models. At this time India would adopt \u2018strategic autonomy\u2019 and not follow any camp.<\/li>\n<li>Indian democracy believe in pluralism, dialogue and peaceful co-existence.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0India doesn\u2019t believe in clash of civilisation (samuel p huntington) and any ideological war (communism vs capitalism)<\/li>\n<li>His speech indicate that essence of India\u2019s Foreign policy is still non-alignment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>4. India\u2019s relation with Russia, USA and China.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On relation with Russia and USA, PM says\u00a0India has overlapping interest in International and regional geopolitics<\/li>\n<li>PM portrayed India-China relation as complex and having \u2018many layers\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>PM futher add that stability in India-China relation is important for India and world.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>5. On Indo-Pacific<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0PM affirms that India\u2019s engagement in Indo-Pacific is not to contain china.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0India will continue to emphasis on a \u201cfree, open, inclusive region\u2019 and a \u201ccommon rule based\u201d Indo-pacific order.<\/li>\n<li>For legitimacy, the common rule should be based on \u2018consensus of all\u2019 rather than on \u2018power of few\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>PM also advice USA and china not to convert their normal competition into conflict.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0PM ask for \u2018Asia of cooperation\u2019 rather than \u2018Asia of conflict\u2019.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>6.
