These rules <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">must be adopted and notified by state governments before implementation<\/span>. <strong>New rules for childbirth registration<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>What is proposed in the new rules for childbirth registration?<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_289556\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-289556\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-289556 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/childbirth-registration-1.png?resize=300%2C226&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"New rules for childbirth registration\" width=\"300\" height=\"226\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/childbirth-registration-1.png?resize=300%2C226&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/forumias.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/childbirth-registration-1.png?w=601&amp;ssl=1 601w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-289556\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><strong>Source- UNICEF<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Specify the religion of both parents separately:<br \/>\na.<\/strong> When registering a child&#8217;s birth, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">parents will now need to specify the religion of both the father<\/span> and <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">mother separately<\/span>.<br \/>\n<strong>b.<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Previously, birth registers only noted the family&#8217;s religion<\/span>.<br \/>\n<strong>c.<\/strong> The new &#8220;Form No.1-Birth Report&#8221; will include separate sections for the child&#8217;s religion, as well as the religion of both the father and mother.<br \/>\n<strong>d.<\/strong> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">This update also applies to parents of adopted children<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act of 2023, information on birth and death registrations will be maintained in the national database.<\/p>\n<h2>What is Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act, 2023?<\/h2>\n<p>This act amended the <a href=\"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/birth-certificate-to-be-made-mandatory-for-jobs-driving-license-passport-voting-right\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Registration of Birth and Death (RBD) Act,1969<\/a>. According to Registration of Birth and Death (RBD) Act,1969 <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">a\u00a0birth or death must be registered within 21 days<\/span>. If not registered within this period, it can be registered under the RBD Act with an order from a First-Class Magistrate, verifying the details of the event.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key features of Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Act of 2023<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. National database<\/strong>&#8211; According to 2023 act, the birth and death database will be maintained at the national level.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Connecting database<\/strong>&#8211; It may be used to update various databases including the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">National Population Register (NPR)<\/span>, <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">electoral rolls<\/span>, Aadhaar number, ration card, passport, driving license, property registration, and any other databases as notified.<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Digital records<\/strong>:<br \/>\n<strong>a.<\/strong> All births and deaths in the country <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">must be digitally registered through the Centre\u2019s Civil Registration System portal (crsorgi.gov.in)<\/span>.<br \/>\n<strong>b.<\/strong> Digital birth certificates issued through this system will <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">serve as a single document to verify the date of birth for various services<\/span>, including admission to educational institutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.
