Centre to start measuring \u2018green GDP\u2019 of States<\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Central government for the first time calls for a national environment survey to measure green GDP of state.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Important Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. The government will start a five-year exercise to compute district-level data of the country\u2019s environmental wealth.<\/li>\n
    2. The\u00a0 data will be used to calculate \u2018green\u2019 Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of every states.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      4.The data required for the inventory would be sourced from data-sets that already exist with other government ministries.<\/p>\n

      1. The project will begin from September in 54 districts.<\/li>\n
      2. Under the project, Land will be demarcated into \u201cgrids\u201d with about 15-20 grids per district<\/li>\n
      3. The grids will capture the key feature which will be used to compute the value these include:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
