{"id":28962,"date":"2018-10-24T15:57:43","date_gmt":"2018-10-24T10:27:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.forumias.com\/?p=28962"},"modified":"2018-10-24T15:57:43","modified_gmt":"2018-10-24T10:27:43","slug":"aai-to-embark-on-study-to-assess-capacity-at-48-airports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forumias.com\/blog\/aai-to-embark-on-study-to-assess-capacity-at-48-airports\/","title":{"rendered":"AAI to embark on study to assess capacity at 48 airports"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>AAI to embark on study to assess capacity at 48 airports<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>News:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Airports Authority of India (AAI) is set to commence a study to assess the capacity of 48 airports.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Important Facts:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>The AAI is in the process of selecting a consultant to conduct the survey.<\/li>\n<li>Status of airport passenger in India:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>All the airports together handled a total of 309 million passengers in 2017-2018<\/li>\n<li>The current capacity of all airports is 334 million.<\/li>\n<li>AAI has forecast a demand of approximately 636 million passengers by 2026-2027.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>AAI is looking forward to:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Initiate the strategic action to cope with the forecast traffic<\/li>\n<li>To provide required infrastructure and services to its stakeholders at all times<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>The AAI will start the study of airports which include:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Ahmedabad, Pune and Goa, which handle between 5 million and 10 million passengers per annum.<\/li>\n<li>The airports of Jaipur, Lucknow, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram and Bhubaneshwar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"6\">\n<li>According to a report by CAPA, India needs to invest up to $45 billion on additional capacity to handle 500-600 million air passengers by 2030.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AAI to embark on study to assess capacity at 48 airports News: Airports Authority of India (AAI) is set to commence a study to assess the capacity of 48 airports.
